We were in alot of changes: Vietnam, Cold War, civil rights, hippies, yippies, real bellbottoms, dayglo posters. Alot of people were against Vietnam because we didn't understand it. In the long run, it helped end the cold war. Experimenting with drugs and free love. Those two issues caused more harm to this country than good. it set us up for more drug abuse problems and new STD's. The music was better. People got outside more. However, it was the end of an innocent age (the 50's). We were into politics and reform to better society. The good thing was alot of people became concerned about other people, even if alot of it was misguided. I also discovered alot of my hippy-type friends were actually very conservative in their politics, a real surprise to me. We all voted for Nixon because McCarthy was way to liberal, even for the liberals of the time. We all had a rather cynical view of politics and the so-called "Establishment" at the time. Later, we became the "Establishment", ie the business and political leaders.

the big change in the 6o's was the civil rights movement and putting a man on the moon. the big 70's issue was the water gate scandle, disco and trying to get our troops out of vietnam. the clothes sucked in both decades but each one had some good music. the best thing that happend in the sixties was my mother and father meeting. the best thing that happend in the 70's was them marring and having me.

Awsome period of time!! I would say people obtained more "freedoms" so to speak. Integrated schools, draft card and bra burning, sit-ins, protests, marches and rock n roll. Cool hot rods, you could buy more for your money than today. Flair legged pants, pot , Hippies, Afro's, peace, Vietnam War, Top Gun, Hell's Angels, motorcycles, NHRA drags and a 65 Mustang.
