Some object to celebrating Christmas or Easter because we are not commanded in the Scripture to do so. While it is a truthful observation that we are not commanded to do such, I would question as to whether or not the lack of such a prescriptive command means that we cannot celebrate the birth of Christ or His day of resurrection (Easter)?

If they consider it is honouring to God, yes. If they think it is a pagan festival, no. Either way, the one cannot judge the other. It is a question of personal faith (Romans 14, Colossians 2)

of course they should celebrate it. There's a story behind both of them. Even though Christmas was actually a holiday that was pre-christian. it began as a festival of the winter solstice, when the days are the coldest and people used to celebrate it with extra light, warmth and abundance. The lighted Christmas tree and the evergreen wreaths have nothing to do with the story of Jesus... they were symbols of fertility and life, which the celebrants hoped would persist through a cold winter. Easter's christian meaning is mixed with some elements from the Jewish passover, but furthermore comes from the old festival of spring in Honor of Eastre, the goddess of the dawn. That is why it is always celebrated on a full moon. interesting huh?
