The Da Vinci Code is fiction. I personally loved it even though it's not true because it was fascinating watching them figure out the clues and using historical events into their puzzle.

1. It's not true

2. The book is a rehash of "Holy Blood Holy Grail" by Baigent, Leigh and Lincoln published in 1983. Note the villain's name is Leigh Teabing, which is an anagram. By now even Henry Lincoln seems to have disassociated himself from HBHG.

3. The plot appears to be lifted from "The Bourne Identity".

4. It's not well written.

NO don't take ANY of that history as fact. All of it is so blatantly wrong! If you know ANYTHING about history and you read that book, it will make you want to barf. I read it, loved it, then learned a little something about history, read it again, and was totally disgusted.

Oh yeah, and the Holy Grail is a myth. There wasn't any mention of it until the 1200s. 1,200 years is a LONG time to be keeping a secret.

Symbology isn't even a word. He could just as easily say "symbolism."

The Author himself deny that it is a real one, total myth
but the novel dwells out some historical truths and brings some historical persons and organisation to life in order to give life to his story.

No, it's not true. The book's not even good. The theory's been around for about a thousand years, though.

it's strictly fiction using a "suppose" or "what if". Makes for a good action story, but has no credence in reality.
