Always check with your doctor before introducing starter cereals. Your pedi may recommend you wait until 6 months as there are new studies showing that babies stomachs are not mature enough to even handle cereals at 4 months. I do not know how accurate that is, but worth checking out.
Also, babies tend to have a growth spurt around 4 months of age. This could be the reason. You can try upping the amount of ounces she takes in a feeding to see if you can get her to continue that 7 hour stretch through the night, but usually during growth spurts they will still wake up every 3 hours through the night to eat.

It could be anything. A draft that wakes her up, a neighbor getting home or leaving. It is not recommended to give a baby any solid food before 6 months although I have heard of people that did it with no problems. My kids all broke out in body rashes when I tried it before 6 months, but they just weren't ready. Perhaps you should add an ounce or two to her daytime feedings. I know when my kids were around that age they did want more in their feedings. Good Luck

No I don't think she is completely ready for solids. If you ask her doctor the doctor will tell you whether or not it's a good time to start her on solids plus it's an old fact that solids help a baby sleep thur the night .She is probably going through a growth spurt right now so she is going to wake up more to eat.

I agree with you - she's probably ready for some solid foods. I had a similar problem with my little guy and feeding him something more "hefty" in the evening did the trick. She's probably just going through a growth spurt and needs that little extra! Good luck - watch out for flying cereal! Also, a little tip: if you want to give her a bottle of kinda runny cereal, it's super easy to just nip the tip of a bottle nipple off to make the hole bigger (cereal goes through easier) and it's a little more relaxing for that right before bed feeding.

My 4 mo. old son is going thru the same thing; she sounds like she's just getting hungry. My dr. recommended starting some cereal (1 T of cereal with about 4-5 T formula) twice a day by spoon. Good luck!

our daughter did the same thing at that age and we just waited it out. she's done the same since then (she's 9 months now) and we figure she's going through a developmental growth phase when this happens. my advice is to be careful giving solids - our daughter got really "blocked" up from the added iron and then wouldn't sleep day or night because she was so uncomfortable...

I also think she's ready for solid foods, try some rice cereal.
But it could also be just a phase, which you don't want to become constant, so try the cereal first.

yep, sounds like your girl is ready for some pablum. Try giving her a couple tablspoon fools at her last feeding before bedtime, but not in the bottle.

She might be ready for solids. She might also be either teething or going through a growth spurt.
