I didn't know if it was considered "cosmetic" - I know some insurances won't pay for that, but will most pay for a visit to the dermatologist if you're just having your skin looked at?

It depends on what kind of "center" it is. If it is a dermatologist run by doctors, then they should. However, there are also places called things like "MediSpas" or "Dermotology Spas"...etc. Although these places are often run by doctors, they are not a health care center and most likely won't take insurance. If it is something that when you look it up in the phone book and is listed under dermatology, I would say I am 99% sure that they would accept your insurance.

It totally depends. But as long as the nature of the visit is not cosmetic, then yes most take insurance of course! It is actually up to your insurance company, not the dermatology clinic. The clinics don't care who pays them, as long as somebody does. Try to make the appointment as an "annual checkup" or cancer prevention trip, something like that. Then when you get there, really talk about what you want to talk about:)

Hope everything is fine!

you have to check to see if a particular clinic is listed as covered by your insurance and make sure you see a doctor that is also covered by your insurance agency. you can find most of that information out online if you have a major insurance provider (if they do not have a website, then call).

Absolutely, you are not having a procedure done, you are just going in for a consult.
