Because "followers" need someone to look up to...it really takes effort to "Be your own Hero" and go beyond self-serving gratification and contribute nothing of real value to this planet. The real heros are people like doctors, teachers, firemen, surgeons, scientists, parents, family members, policemen, farmers...real people...who don't take steroids to do their jobs. They do it with hardwork, love & integrity...the old school way.

Because sports are business and it helps everybody make more money when there are heroes playing. The owners make more, the players make more, the networks make more and even the advertisers make more. Only the fans lose.
