As I have explained elsewhere, I am a guy playing a guy in a play that also plays a female part (sort of Shakespeare in Love type thing). This is a close pic to one of the costumes I will be wearing in female character, although it's not ready yet (but I have been measured for it):

Does anyone know the name of the headpieces the girls are wearing, and where a source might be to get them?

Also, has anyone worn a costume like this before? How easy is it to move around in them?

I believe the head piece is called a Flemish Pill Hat. Here's a link to one on buycostumes.com: http://www.buycostumes.com/ProductDetail.aspx?pcatID=hatswigsmasks&ccatID=hatsaroundworld&productid=19750

I've worn one a couple of times and I have to admit I love them because they are so comfortable and yes, easy to move around in. The big "skirt" or bottom part of the costume is kinda bulky and gets in the way of stuff if you are moving around tight places but if you are in a play it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

I have a Charley's Aunt costume which sports a 120" hoopskirt.
After some practice it's easy to get around in. My costume would be a lot harder to get around in due to the stiff hooped petticoat and large skirt.than the one I saw on the site you noted. It would seem that you should have no problem at all, Just need to practice and make sure you don't trip over your dress!.
It may be a bit bulky but you are using it in a limited space so you shold be fine.
I don't use a corset with my costume. That could make things a little more difficult!

If you don't want to order the headpiece from the page your link is from, take the picture to a good dressmaker and ask them if they'll make it for you.

The costumes aren't hard to wear, unless you're wearing an Elizabethan corset underneath it, which would make it much more challenging. Make sure your shoes fit--that's what will make the most difference in how easily you can walk in the gown.

some where crowns, veils, or a band of flowers around their head. I'd fine a head piece that you like and make it from wire and synthetic flowers.
