I agree with you it is not teaching a child anything, the parents should not allow the child to torture the animal. the puppy or cat dont know that it is a child or not they think they are like them and they are hurting them, animals feel pain too and no one has a right to kill them it is so sick. a woman brought her child over to my house one day and the child kept chasing my cat, and trying to hurt him and I was constantly screaming at the child to stop while the mother sat on the couch and went to sleep. ignoring her responsibility, so the child found my cat and pulled its tail and got scratched my cat did not lnow that was a child he just knew he hurt him. well needless to say I bounced them both out of my house like a rubber ball. and told them never to return. and my cat did not get spanked hes a mommys boy. and the people I am talking about have never been back. they asked 2 times and both times no. no. we are no longer freinds. this is wrong. hope you can get through to others too good luck

You are so right. What is the use of blaming the animals that are being taunted by kids if the kids are the ones that are provoking the animal in the first place. Animals can't decide whether or not to attack their provoker or ask them to stop because it is the only way that they can show that they are annoyed and after they are done, the kid could become badly injured, which is what they deserve for provoking the animal. If people are blaming the animals, then they are really wrong, instead, they should be blaming the parents for not warning the kids what happens if they provoke the animal.

My dad was an alcoholic and a mean one at that. He used to punch the dog if it got on his nerves by barking or whatever my dad deemed annoying. This was a good, gentle dog. Course, he beat my brother too. Anyway, one day the dog had had enough and when my dad went to hit him, the dog went for him and took the skin off of most of his forearm. I did not blame my dog.

I agree! My dad had a dog, before I was around, that bit a girl who threw rocks and sticks at him every day after school. The dog was fenced in and chained, he was a big dog! He bit the girl one time, only once, then left her alone. Yet the dog got put to sleep.

i agree with u, i teach my kids to respect all creatures, my daughter was trying to play with our dog while he was eating and he bit her on the lip, not real bad just enough to make her understand that he didn't like that.he felt guilty but he didn't get punished because i have warned her before to never do that, that dog kept acting like it was apologizing to my daughter so i know that he knew he did something wrong but she learned to never mess with a dog while they are eating.

Right there with you. Dogs are animals, not stuffed toys.
