Not all do, but my nephew did have a fascination with fire when he was around 12 years old. He burned the adjacent field next to where he lived and almost burned down a trailer!
-I think the mere fact that they can destroy something is fascinating to them.

According to the website below, adolescents play with fire out of boredom:http://cat.inist.fr/?aModele=afficheN&cpsidt=15794951

i really dont know. i picked it up when i was twelve. im sixteen, and i still like to burn things. call it curiosity. i just want to see how things will burn, you know? i mean, for future reference. ive pretty much burned everything. everything from paint to rubberbands to hair to plastic and more. i also just like seeing the way the thing reacts to flames. when my parents wonder why im such a pyro, i get away with telling them that im interested in chemistry, which im not.

I am not sure? Maybe because they are upset on life and the best way is to burn things!

It was recently proven that adolescent brains lack the ability to properly reason and feel empathy. Not a fault of adolescents, it's a biological change. For that reason, parents need to step up "parenting" during those years to make sure their children make it through those formative years unscathed.

I did that alot when I was young and silly. It was stress releif and fun to see how much you can burn without causing an emergency.

not sure but I did it, I would go into the woods and start a fire, nothing big and I wasn't planning on burning down the woods or anything...I grew out of it.

I'm 14 and don't play with fire. Of course i'm probably more mature than some other kids. Then only time i use fire is when lighting a candle or if my parents tell me to do something with fire. Like the fireplace.
