Guppies are very easy to take care of, I have alot of them. Keep the tank clean right temp around 70-75. You really don't have to worry about breeding them they do very well on their own :). Males are very pretty females are less pretty. They will eat the fry (baby) so if you don't want that to happen you will want to get a birthing net or put in lots of plants (don't have to be real plants) for the fry to hide in.
And it takes about 2 months for the fry to come. They are so tiny you can hardly see them at first. Good luck.

RE:
How easy are guppies to take care of/breed?
Right now I have gouramis. I had 2, but 1 died yesterday. I've only had them for about a month. I'm not sure what happened, but I want easier fish to take care of next time. I've heard guppies are fairly easy to take care of, and they are also easy to breed. Is there anything I should...

If your looking for a fish that's easy to care for, betas are definitely the easiest. But don't breed betas until you have done lots of research (It's pretty difficult if you don't plan ahead.) But if you're looking for a fish that's easy to breed, definitely either guppies or swordtails. I had guppies in our pond so it was hard to keep track of their breeding, but we have swordtails in a tank and they multiply like crazy. Also with swordtails, the females can change their sex if their aren't any males. So just make sure you have enough females.

Guppies are very easy to care for. They are great for beginners. They breed like crazy, so unless you have friends that can take babies or you want to have a HUGE tank - I don't reccommend breeding them. Most pet stores will not take them - and the ones that do just feed them to large fish.

Never had any luck with guppies , they always died and I was told told that it depended on the strength of the strain and how much they were inbred . They also like a constant ph level of water and dont like the cold .
Ive had the same goldfish for three years and find them extremely hardy, tolerant to many conditions and easy to care for . Good luck !

hell yes Ive got a saltwater aquarium and that's hard compared to looking after some small little fish your gourami probably died because you didn't check either nitrate pH or ammonia and how many guppies do you have don't over crowd the tank that would restrict the fishes air supply to the gills
