Childhood memories of Paul Harvey's distinctive voice & style as far as I am concerned are some of my most important. In my opinion he leads the great oratory jounalist like, Walter Winchell, Lowell Thomas, Alex Dryer, Len O'Conner, W. Cronkite, E. R. Murrow, etc.

Unlike the sensationalism for the sake of itself, that lacks common sense and balance, such as we witness today, Mr. Harvey's editorial broadcast are pleasant, ponderable, compassionate, insightful, and appropriatlely humourous. His video presence merely adds to the mystique de'essence that makes Paul Harvey touch the mind, heart, and even the souls of of young and old alike across as well the arbitrarilly defined ethnic distinctions.

If there is ever an award given for responsible, conscienable, Bill of Rights, type journalism, it should be given to him, dedicated to him, named for him, and awarded sparingly to only the most deserving of journalist.

I have appreciated his remarks from childhood through adulthood. I wish more would listen and those that listen would heed. One cannot deny that there is very much thought going on in his head. He is the true representatvie of free speech and press, not just another "talking head".

I like how he says "page 2" or "page 3" whenever he turns the page. I also like how you can't tell whether he's reading a news item or an advertisement. I used to listen to him in my grandmother's kitchen too.

There is no one like Paul Harvey. I remember listening to him as a child and I like learning things from that friendly voice over the radio. Now as an adult I still like to listen to the rest of the story. Mr. Harvey is now 88 and I hope he keeps going until he is 100. His son is now in training to be our next voice and he does quite well.

2 things: He was the hero of my 8th grade social studies teacher, Mr. Hughes, who would read us "The rest of the story" during class (along with Ripley's Believe It or Not). So instead of learning a chronological history of the U.S., we got random trivia via Paul Harvey.
The other memory is driving around with my dad listening to Paul Harvey news. My dad would always pipe up with "page 2!" or whatever 'page' he was on. You have to admit: when Paul Harvey is talking, it's hard not to listen up, whether he's talking about Marie Antoinette or denture cream.

Paul Harvey is 88 years old and still going strong. This is a man who obviously loves his work. You can't ask for more than that out of any human being.
