You can get together a group of people to help set up this fund, that way you don't stand out. It's a nice thing to do for the family, sometimes its good to let them know, they have friends that care about them too.

A local bank may be able to help you. Many times, they are the donation location and people are more secure by sending money to a trustworthy organization. The money can be put it in a trust fund in either the mother's name or the children's name. Other's would know about the fund and would donate as well. Perhaps contact your own bank and let them know of what you would like to do. They could steer you in the right direction.
You are a thoughtful and kind person.

Try calling the school of the kids and speak with its school psychologist or principal about activity funds. You may even be able to join in one that's already existant. As far as kid expenses, aside from setting up a bank account or the like, there is no way to put aside funds. You could, however, anonynously drop off gift cards for food or clothing in the mailbox. Better yet, take the kids for a pizza or a movie, if you're acquantances, or just speak with their caretaker.

go to your bank and speak with the branch manager. tell her/him what you want to do. get either the bank or an attorney to oversee the account to disperse funds and personally speak with as many TV stations, newspapers about the fund making sure that they keep you anonymous. make sure you are the first to make a big donation.

May God bless you. Call a bank in the town where they live and talk to them, they can arrange for the funds to be sent to them there.
