Well considering he is an ex...shouldn't he have figured that out by now....but since he obviously hasent......say something like "since we are not together any more I really feel as if you should go find your own place." either that or...."get the heck out of my house" Both would work.

Your safety is the first consideration. If you think you will be safe with his reaction when confronted with your position, a direct assault will be the best way. If he is the explosive type, you be careful and have Superman with you when you tell him about the need to separate.
Another approach would be mention a separation. Then slowly cut your ties. In time he will get the message.
Men usually go through stages when hurting news is presented.1st. Disbelief, 2 hurt feelings to make you feel quilt, 3 promises to change, and 4 to hurt you mentally or physically. The 4th is the one you need to be concern with.

If you think he will not become angry, to the point he might hurt you, then just tell him you want him to leave. You might even want to lie about why. But only if you have to. Then go out of town for a night or weekend. Let him know the date by which he needs to leave, and let it go. He should be packed and out by the time you return. If he scares you, get some advice from a forum for battered or abused women. They might have some advice about how to approach it that will keep the situation calm.

If he is on the lease with you, legally he has the right to stay there until the lease is up as long as he pays his share of rent. If he is not on the lease, it depends on the state. Some still make you give a 30 day notice for them to leave. Some will allow you to make him leave as long as he does not help pay rent. You need to find out what your local laws are on this issue.

Tell him what you just told us. How the heck did that even happen anyways? Is it like "The Breakup"? But yeah, no need to be cordial or polite or anything, he's your ex, just explain your true feelings if you really want him out.

Just tell him to get out, of course in the nicest way. If he keeps making excuses why he can't, like I don't have anywhere else to go, then help him find somewhere else but do not support him financially.

If he's on the lease, you have to give him 30 days. If not give him 48 hrs to get his stuff out. Put the rest in storage and give him 1 month to get it out. Then change the locks if necessary. Check with the local police and see if they will help you evict him.

Your an adult. Is the house or rental agreement in both your names? If it is -- both of you get out and sub-lease it. If not whoever's name isn't on the paper get out. Give 2 weeks to get out and then change the locks with their stuff somewhere safe that they can go and pick them up -- and you are FREE!

tell him he needs to move on as you feel uncomfortable now with the situation, offer to help him find somewhere to go, tell him you are sorry things didn't work out so please don't make this any harder, You could also tell him a little fib tell him you have relatives coming to stay with you in 3 weeks so he has to be out by then

Um, just like that. Give him a couple weeks to make arrangements, and if he hasn't found a place, call the police and tell them he's trespassing. Simple as pie.
