Yeah, I have a fear of that too. The weird feeling I think is called weightlessness or air time. I really hate that feeling, I remember going on Goliath, a rollercoaster that has a really steep hill at 6 Flags, what I did was I squeezed the restraints and just screamed, yell, swore...after that, it was no more rides for me. I'm not sure which Disneyland you're talking about but if you mean the one in California then there a lots of rides where you won't experience much air time. I'd say the one with the most would be Splash Mountain. But, I also have a fear but I still go on it - just scream and swear the whole way :))

yeah i used to be afraid of roller coasters a couple of years ago. I'm 14 and i went to Six Flags Over Texas with some friends and rid some roller coasters. I was really nervous and did not want to look scared. So i did and i had lots of fun. I started out on little roller coasters then you will think thats boring and want to go on bigger ones. Good Luck!

I am just like you. I hate extreme roller coasters like six flags of knotts berry farm. But I go to Disneyland all the time. That is the only amusment park that I will go on all the rides. Even the California Screamn'!!!!
Don't worry about it. The only ride at Disneyland that has the step drop is Splash Mountain and if you go in line, and decide to get off you can becuase they warn you that the boarding process is coming. None of the rides are scary except for Splash Mountain and California Screamn'. You might be scared now but when you go on it and get that adrenalin rush, you will think it is the best ride in the world. I was scared of Space Mountain, California Screamn', and Splash Mountain but after I went on it, I loved it and I went on again and again and again. Don't worry. You can always go on Thunder Mountian and The Matterhorn if you aren't that thrilling. Remember though that you can get off the ride a few minutes before you board. So you will have time to think about it. I felt so scared at the beginning but after you ride, you will think why didn't I go on this before.Good luck and enjoy yourself!!!!!!! :)

Relax, the roller coasters at Disney are not near as bad as the ones at the other parks. I found them to be very enjoyable. I have a bad back and neck problems and in spite of the warning, I suffered no ill effects.
They are supposed to scare you, that is the point of it. There are plenty of other rides at Disney, but give the roller coasters a try. Or just go for Splash mountain, That is a ton of fun. A sort of water roller coaster, but not nearly as scary.

I love spinning rides but I'm terrified of roller coasters. The drop gets me every time. I think Disneyland has similar rides to Disneyworld so when I went to Disneyworld I rode Space Mountain and had a blast. I think it was because it was all in the dark with little "stars" all around and it. So maybe if you ride a roller coaster at night that might help. Also, I ride the little kiddie roller coasters to warm myself up for the bigger drops and that seems to help.

I get really afraid of roller coasters too, so it's perfectly normal. What i do when i go to amusement parks is i try and ride the smallest roller coasters i can handle, and usually my friends understand and think it's fun and actually ride the small ones with me!
I know I used to be really scared of riding in an airplane, but the more I rode on one, the more used to it I got, and now i'm not afraid of them at all! I think that's the ticket to overcoming any fear - start off small, don't push yourself or you'll just make the situation worse, and just ride as many as you can. ride the small ones until you feel comfortable, then maybe try riding some bigger ones until you feel comfortable with those, then ride some even bigger ones, etc. good luck and i hope you overcome your fear!

I think if you want to go on them, go on them. The only way to overcome your fear is to face it head-on. It does feel weird when you go down, but that's how it's supposed to feel. It's fun, in a scary kind of way. That's the way roller coasters are. You scream your head out and feel like your gonna puke and that your stomach is up over your head, and yet, you can't stop. They are just addicting and sooo much fun! The Tower of Terror will defiantly help you get over your fear of going down because that is all you do on that ride. Just scream. That helps. Oh, and just so you know, on the Tower of Terror, you are up out of your seat the whole time because you are falling so fast. Good luck and have fun at Disneyland!

- bring a close best friend (if coming) or family relative - DON'T close your eyes, makes EVERYTHING worse (your mind will trick you, and you will feel like your going to fall of the coaster) - scream (say anything you want) and laugh out your fear, try to enjoy it. - but the key to my fear of roller coasters is to not care about my fear and just scream and have fun :)
