Other responders have mentioned using Trend's "House Call", and also ditching McAfee and going with something like the free versions of AVG or AVAST anti-virus programs. I'd just like to add one thing more.....besides those suggestions, boot your computer into "Safe Mode" by tapping the F8 key as it starts to boot. Then run the full scan using whatever anti-virus program you have. Often that'll do the trick. Good luck.

I use Norton, but when I run a "full system scan" -- which takes a couple of hours, any questionable files are put in quarantine. This means the file can only be opened by an antivirus program. There also was an option to send it on to Norton for identification.
A file was quarantined, and I sent it to Norton. In my case, Norton informed me that the file was not "malicious" and I restored it.
It is possible that McAfee was able to remove the virus.
In any event, to ease your mind, I would run a "full system scan."

do a search online for the PUP virus and see if there is a specific remover for it. some viruses require it's own cleaner.

if you still have the back up disk that came with your pc, then wipe out your hard drive and reinstall. if i remember correctly, you will find that option at the safe mode menu when you power up (ex: its F8 during start up on my laptop)... the whole process takes about 6 hours, but the pc will be restored to its "out of the box" condition.

Try an online virus scanner.
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
Or get AVG Anti-Virus, which works much, much better.

is....the virus causing any problems?
If it isn't, you shouldn't worry about it.
If you see any issues, then download another antivirus program and re-scan.
