Oh, just to clear things up... I'm a Mets fan. It's nice to see the Mets win esp. after everybody thought the Yanks were going to win it all.

And, I'm VERY, VERY impressed with the Tigers pitching staff. Never heard of most of them until this series. I dislike how the Yanks try to buy their championships.

I'm a true baseball fan, and for the Yankees just to "buy" the all-stars from other teams just hurts the game.

I don't hate the Yankees and never have. Really the only team I hate is the Indians. I dislike what the Yankees do because its bad for baseball but obviously the Yanks do not realize that throwing money at something is not going to fix the problem. I am a Tigers fan though and its nice to see them finally doing well again. Its been a long time since the World Series Championship of 1984. Heck, i was only 11 then.

You know I've realized that not ALL yankee fans are bad. Just the ones that SCREAM "26 RINGS!"

I've enjoyed watching The Tigers put a good ole fashioned whooping on dem der city slickers from the big bad apple!

Believe it or not some yankee fans are actually nice!
I wouldnt have believed it either but it's true.

And I am glad the yankees lost, I cant wait to see what steinbrenner has to say now.

I do feel bad for Joe Torre though, he is a class act.
But I do NOT feel bad for derek jeter. I saw his face in the dugout and it was PRICELESS!!!

$200 million dollar payroll. I suspect A-Rod will waive his no-trade clause. He's been horrible. I think he'll do better in the National League next year with the Dodgers!
-I guess the Yanks will take a look at who made the All Star Game this year and try to buy them for next year!
-I know Red Sox fans are grinning right now!
------
My Dodgers just lost to the Mets tonight! That's what we get for trading Lo Duca for three nobodys a couple years ago. We did the same thing with Mike Piazza!
-Maybe the Yanks will pick up Barry Bonds next year!

Hey, say what you want about the Yankees and their winning ways, and how every one else (especially the BoSox) sucks, but lets not forget that the Yankees are known for some of the biggest collapses in history, including THE biggest collapse in all of baseball history.

: )

A Mets fan talking about the Yankees buying a team when his own team bought Pedro Martinez Carlos beltran Cliff Floyd Tom Glavine Carlos Delgado Billy Wagner & Orlando Hernandez should be the last people talking about anyone buying a team. Hypocrisy anyone?

Oh man, that's rich!! Your question made me laugh almost as much as realizing that George couldn't buy another pennant. Wasn't Steinbrenner one of the most vocal oppponents of A-Rod's 252 million dollar payday in Texas. Who's laughing now AL East? BWHAHAHAHAHAH!

I wonder how much the Yanks and Sox will drop their ticket prices for next year.

It's very simple. The Yankees did not have the pitching this year, and the Tigers did.

It takes a big man to say that after they lose the series. How did your team do?

If the Yankees ever picked up Barry Bonds, I would not follow them next year. I'd wait until he was gone. Having Giambi is bad enough, we don't need someone who's worse.

The Tigers just got lucky this year. They're not gonna make it anywhere again anytime soon.

Why do so many people find it necessary to insult the Yankees and their fans all the time? I can understand if you were a Boston fan, then it would make sense. You kinda have to then, just like Yankee fans hate the Red Sox. But I don't get why so many people have to be so obnoxious when discussing the Yankees. It can only be due to jealousy.

Now they can go home and make up excuses for the Post and the Daily News. Oh I had a stomach flu, I broke a nail, oh I had hang nail on my pinky toe, wah wah wah! Just like always, never admitting that another team could possibly be better, always excuses. Smug cry babies.
