The answer is yes because pretty much everyone out there thought the Tigers were going to get rolled, myself included and I am a Tigers fan. Its amazing how many people come out of the woodwork when upsets happen and say, gee I told you so. I think we underestimated the Tigers resolve after that choke to the Royals last weekend, and that resolve comes from the top and thats all Jim Leyland. The Tigers v. A's series should be interesting and low scoring but I think the Tigers make it thru 4-2.

i'm actually really surprised (as many people are) that the tigers pulled the upset. I predicted tigers would meet the yanks in ALCS (figuring the tigers would win their division, not the wildcard), but tigers would lose.
Why, the yanks have tons of post-season experience. I guess none of that matters against great pitching.
Kenny Rogers brought his game on in the last game he pitched. He showed up for the postseason.... most of the Yanks didn't.
should the yanks have advanced? No. The tigers beat them with great pitching, which the Yankees obviously don't have.

They shouldn't have made it to the ALCS. They only rely on a few players like A -Rod and Mariano Riveria. Players like Randy Johnson, Bernie Williams, and Gary Sheffield are way past their primes. The Yankees should add younger players to their aging roster.
The Tigers are good threat for the pennant. In the NL I say the New York Mets would be a good bet.

I really thought they had it in 'em to go all the way. What wasted talent! But, unfortunately, the Yanks have a little experience in imploding in the playoffs. Just seemed like they were pulling too hard, trying to swing for homers, just not playing basic ball. Really thought they had it made after the "Boston Massacre", but there you are. Detroit just played better, period.
From,
Not hatin' anyoone, sad Yankee fan!!
Go Al!!

No they lost to a team with better pitching. The Tigers have four legit starters and the lowest overall era in baseball.

With their payroll and talent? Absolutely! The entire team needs the heart of Jeter; maybe they'd start winning and moving forward if they did.

I never think the Yankees should advance anywhere, ever.
But they sure thought they should!
Sad day for the Dumb old Dodgers, too!

I'm not sure what you mean by "should have" - they have the talent, obviously, but they couldn't take 3 (or even 2) games from the wild card team. If you can't do that then, well, thanks for playing.
