If you truly care about the feelings of others, then you must take the risk of hurting others to express your feelings. This is the essence of honesty. If you don't say what you strongly believe, because you are afraid of hurting others, then your fear has ruled you, and others have missed out on hearing a truly loving, though differing, opinion. It is a loss not only to you, but to others.

On the other hand, there are times when I don't say things because I realize that I am angry or being sarcastic, and this would not be helpful for others or for me in the long run. Only you will be able to tell the difference.

Hoping the best for you...

If your intent is simply to be heard than you should speak up. You have to be true to yourself, which means expressing your thoughts and feelings. You ARE NOT responsible for anyone else's feelings... people are going to feel the way they choose to feel, no matter what.

Stop taking responsibility for others feelings. You don`t make people feel any certain way they choose this response...be kind considerate and charitable with your words and people will know you mean no harm...and be judicious about when you share your oppinion...sometimes noone wants to hear it...

Always try to speak from your perspective. Instead of saying "you hurt me", say "when you said (such and such), I really felt hurt by that". Be mindful that others never like to be criticized about anything at any time...so be careful how you word things!

You can't worry about if you are going to offend someone because no matter how careful you may be, someone is going to get offended! Just be willing to apologize if you do offend someone! Good luck!:)

For starters, don't offer opposing opinions when not asked, unless you have to. When you do, you can couch it with "Have you considered this viewpoint..... ?"
