How would they pay for it? If they had, say, a companion person to pay for it, how would they convey the desire fo such a change. I do not think any ethics comity would approve, in a biological experiment. I do not know if the surgery was ever developed on animals. Some animals can change sex by circumstance, though.

With a lot of fish species this happens.See the groupers(They all mature first as female),wrasses,for an example.
Hamlets,that are hermaphrodites,producing both eggs and sperm,each fish.
I know that it happen in other species too.
