There is a logical reason for it. I doubt its spirits, nor do I think you're crazy or somehow delusional.
If it were spirits trying to spook you I doubt seriously they would use static noises to scare you. Moans, groans and voices or whisperings is more their bag of tricks.
Keep calm and do some investigating. You will find a logical explanation. So there is no need in getting spooked. Just relax, listen to the sound.., see where its coming from if you can and take it from there. Try and THINK what could make sounds like that..., tin foil rattling in a draft could possibly make a static like noise, even cellophane plastic wrapping in a draft...
there could be any number of things at the root of it - non of which are scary.

If nobody else can hear it, I would say you may very well have a spirit or ghost in your home that is trying to contact you.
Never be frightened of a spirit or ghost. Spirits are higher beings, and ghosts are much easier to contact, hear, or see, as they are essentially a being stuck between a humand form and a spiritual form.
Spirits and ghosts will often sound like static or high pitched squeaking to even some of the most highly trained mediums and other such people, as they vibrate on a much higher frequency than us and sound a bit like chipmunks. Hearing spirits is a great gift, as not a lot of people can, so if it is a spirit or ghost, then thank your lucky stars.
If it is becoming quite bothersome, just sit down and speak to the room. They will hear you, even if you think that it isn't there. Ask the spirit or ghost (make sure that you say both, as spirits may get offended by you calling them a ghost), if it would kindly leave your home and return to the other world.
If it is a ghost, they may be unwilling to leave as they often won't know that they are dead. So you have to stress that point until they understand that they need to leave and head through the tunnel with the light. I've done it before in my own home. I had a ghost that wouldn't leave. Any time I'd go out at night, I would feel as if there was something bad watching me, even though there was nothing there. And it would then feel like something was running t me, so I'd always run back inside, quite scared despite the fact I couldn't see anything.
But recency when I made contact with my spirit guide (who is really cuddly and sweet), he helped me to talk with this ghost and get him back to the other world. And now when I go outside, it's much more peaceful.
So try out that idea, and see if it works.

thinking if it isn't the fan on the lap desirable, the only thank you to renowned for useful is to deliver your canines on your room, animals are very perceptive to any variety of non secular interest, they'll frequently provide you with a warning to this,i've got had the two canines and cats that have responded to this phenomena.Your different selection is to apply a tape recorder and run it and ask if there's a spirit contemporary with you, what's there call and why are they here,it is how paranormal investigators attempt and %. up any digital voice phenomena that is happening,i could attempt the two a style of issues and see in case you get any reaction,in case you do not then you definately will a minimum of understand that it is not what is going on,wish it is of a few help to you.

Whatever you do, don't turn the heater and air conditioner again. It will make it worse and anger the spirits. Instead, calm down and be with someone. If you are scared, run away from your house and live in the streets until you know the spirit will go away and chase after you. then, go back to your house and add garlic cloves to your doors. Oops, wait, those are vampires.
Take some incense and have your house smell good and make a circle of salt and pray. The salt will make the spirit go to heaven or 'move on.'

Could be water running through the pipes, that is often confused for static. You have a handle that needs jiggled on a toilet, or is someone doing dishes, laundry, showering? Check the water sources to see if anything is dripping, on, or leaking. If not water, and no other applicances are on in any of the nearby rooms, you could try flipping your breakers one at a time to see of something is really on and you don't know it.
I constantly go into my kids rooms and hear weird noises. It is usually a toy at the bottom of their toy box that got turned on by the wieght or position of something else.
Don't freak.

Might be mice or rats in the walls. Have an exterminator check it out. Also look for signs of infestation; Droppings, small holes along the baseboards, signs of gnawing. Sometimes they'll run around in the walls before they gnaw their way through to your living quarters. Good luck.

do you have computer speakers in there? mine used to pick up a signal from somewhere like a baby monitor or radio somewhere. I have no idea how or why, but it did. It took me a while to figure out... maybe that will help you.

Just ask them to leave. Tell them they don't belong there. Say you have 3 days to leave.
Usually they will. How long has this been going on for.
I've hoped I've helped you.
