Was it easier for the mailman or did Henry Ford and someone else have a falling out and decide to change? Was it to confuse drivers? Its a childhood question that have yet to be answered. Looking for some answers.

Believe it or not some American cities did drive on the left early in the 20th century. Very early on though the French made most of the cars in the world and they drove on the right. It looks as if the first American car makers basically copied the French because they had the best designs at the time.

I could be wrong but I THINK it is because Americans wanted to do things to be different from Brits as like a way of showing their independence from Great Britain.

English cars have the steering wheel on the wrong side so they drive on the other side of the road.
