For an American, Nationalism.

Americans reject Secularism because their entire concept of Rights is based on authority flowing from God to The People then to Public Servants, just as it says in the American founding document, the Declaration of Independence. Their concept of Justice is, first and foremost, defense of the individual Rights spelled out in that document, Rights that are granted by God and are therefore inviolable by Man.

Secularism is the rallying cry of Socialists/Communists because it puts absolute, unquestionable authority in the political ruling elite.

Since Americans discard Secularism, Nationalism is a high priority. If they do not defend their nation's interests, their nation will fall to the wolves and buzzards circling with voraciousness and envy.

Defend your nation or lose it!

Nationalism is patriotism with attitude, secularism is freedom from religion. The Declaration of Independence is a philosophical statement. The Constitution, which is a legal document, does not mention god. Therefore, philosophically it would be Nationalism. Legally, however, it would be secularism.

In a country where the Constitution correctly places a line between church and state, nationalism and secularism would co-exist in harmony and there would be no reason to have to choose between them.

Nationalism, even though it appears to be an American concept. Factually, nationalism is well routed in India, with so many kings and everyone claiming to be belonging to a kingdom. Otherwise speak easy has replied in a coherent and a simple manner.
