It's about $25-$40 to buy the game, and there is a $12-$15 monthly fee.
As for the game, it's a lot of fun, and no it's not complicated at first. Just play an "easy class", like Hunter or Warrior till lvl 20 or so, to get the hang of the game. Then, if you want, you can ditch that character and play another.
I know quite a few people who were complete gaming "newbs" when they started, and now they're quite successful players. Most of all, have fun!

it costed me $40 for the game and it also costs $15 a month to play online

I believe that it is $20 US Dollars a month, but it may have changed. Basically you roam around, getting quests and fighting monsters. You can start groups to travel/fight with. It can get complicated, or you can keep it simple.
