The facts written up in your 2000 year old book may be verified by archaeology as an oral tradition most have been proved and to be based on actual events as with the Bible which is 3500 years old approximately.

As for the opinions expressed in ancient texts they are only a matter of personal interpretation of those events based on the hypothesis available at the time. As we establish more facts some hypothesise become theories. As the creationist hypothesis has evolved into an Evolution theory.

Rewriting of old knowledge is a good thing, we should use an eraser on bits that have been found to be wrong.

Homers Iliad which is just over 2000 years old was found to be based on actual events at TROY but Troy wasn't rediscovered until 1870's by Heinrich Schliemann. The description in the Iliad gave Schliemann points of where to look even though at the time Troy was thought to be mythical.

The Bible has been used as a basis when studying ancient Persia and Egypt. Ancient texts of oral traditions should be treated with respect but also remember that they have been written from a perspective. Homer from the Greek perspective, the Bible from the Jewish perspective. When that is remembered much may be gleaned.

no unless you know the the book was rewritten word for word... look at the bible it has been rewritten a lot of time and each time it is word different but the meening is the same to some point. do you trust the bible if so then you trust the facts that are there....if you believe in the bible then you trust the meening...

it depends really. i mean, first, is this book really something that can actually be trusted? also, you have to know why it was rewritten and how or in what manner was it rewritten. If the answers are rational, then go for it.

How do you know it is factual? If it's 2000 years old,it wasn't written in English and would therefore have to have been translated. Many things are lost in translation

You're not talking about facts. You're talking about beliefs. I would trust the belief if it made sense to me.
