Basically every man I know is circumcized but none of us are Jewish. Why do mothers keep doing this to their boys? I wish I wasn't circumsized but I had no choice, I was basically mutilated in my infancy and I had no choice. Why would my mother have done this to me? Why did you do it to your children?

The reason why I think men should be able to choose to keep the foreskin is because of it's purpose. It's supposed to protect the genitals! I find it almost impossible to wear regular boxers because it's simply too painfull to wear. For women, think of it as having your clitoris constantly exposed to everything and always rubbing on your underwear. I think if you shower/bathe daily then the issue of cleanliness should never come up, and as soon as a penis becomes errect the foreskin basically dissapears because the head of the penis extends out beyond it.

I still think the act of forced circumcision is monstrous.

We are living at a time when the revolution in thinking is being made among people in America about the circumcision of infant boys. It is truly a barbaric practice that based in irrational beliefs, driven by fear (fear of infection, fear of uncleanliness, etc) and greed, and promoted by denial and ingorance by doctors and parents alike.

Decades ago it was common hospital policy that doctors delivering babies could circumcise the newborn boys without the parents' consent. Then in the 60s and 70s laws were changed, assigning permission and consent to the parents only. Now in the 21st century circumcision is finally being understood across the board as a harmful and unnecessary procedure that causes permanant diminishment of sexual feeling and an array of other negative consequences. The right to genital modification is finally being acknowledged as belonging to the indivudual - to the fully informed consenting individual only.

You have every right to be furious that you were circumcised. You should realize that your parents owe you an apology for being thoughtless and for transgressing on your right to genital integrity. The more people learn about circumcision and foreskin function and penis anatomy and of the true consequences of circumcision, the less they believe in circumcision and the more sadness they feel for the losses that men experience and for the stupidity of us all. If you can find a place in your heart to forgive the act of violence that was commited against you you are a truly enlightened human being.

I don't know why people do it. Some say hygiene, others say to fit in, for Jewish, because of their religion. I personally think it is a horrid painful thing to do, but on the other hand, I don't find a penis with foreskin appealing.

If I would of had a son. I probably would of had it done. Thankfully I didn't. I would hate to hurt my son like that.

regrettably the explorers and anthropologists who first chanced on the operations finished on women in some countries referred to as the suggestions 'circumcision', hence installation confusion with male circumcision. real woman circumcision is a benign operation to easily get rid of the hood from the clitoris as a fashion to permit extra stimulation. it is the suited equivalent of male circumcision and is the only component which could be referred to as woman circumcision. what's many times referred to as 'woman circumcision' is definitely barbaric and designed to get rid of exhilaration, consisting because it does in removal of the completed clitoris and labia - often with accompanying infibulation. The precesses have actual NO scientific earnings - certainly they make childbirth harder and unsafe for the two mom and newborn. Legislators in many countries have made regulations to forbid this drastic mutilation of the female genitals. besides the indisputable fact that, they have back used the incorrect terminology and defined it as 'woman circumcision'. in the event that they had correct studied the area they could have used a diverse term and allowed actual woman circumcision (i.e. removal of the hood in basic terms) to proceed to be legal. Male circumcision is legal because of the fact it reasons no harm to the male and, in many circumstances, a great deal improves sexual exhilaration besides as constantly recuperating well being.

It was the widespread belief up until the 80's that circumcision helped prevent disease later in life by making it easier to clean the apparatus. Current thinking on the subject is divided.

As to why it is done without consent of the baby, parents have the right to authorize any medical procedure up until the child reaches their majority.

My in-laws apparently agree with you and their sons were never circumcised. Here in America, so many people bring it up as a hygiene issue, which is the main reason most people I know have their sons circumcised.

Why was it done without your permission? Because "Father Knows Best"; also, presumably Mother.

It is cleaner; the female sexual partners of circumcised men are less likely to come down with chlamydia, or cervical cancer.

It was just "always done that way".

If you waited until you were an adult, and needed the surgery, you'd WISH your mother had had it done to you.

1st of all, sorry that you're not happy about the situation, and secondly, being circumsized is considered to be more hygenic, whereas being un-circumsized you should keep it clean as often as possible.
