usually we are ahead of time shoppers..cause we are year round shoppers for each holiday and birthday...we have stocks of gifts in our place that whenever there is an occasion or holiday, we don't have any problem about gifts..from crystals, jewelry, perfume to wine, from baskets, native purses, silver wares to appliances, you name it we can improvise right away. there are no last minute surprise, we have cards, wrapping supply for all occasions. our mom said, that our place is a little gift store that have everything so we just pluck and wrap, done deal...

No and no. I don't do gifts unless I am baking something for someone. I do NOT Xmas shop for anyone anymore and glad to be done with that racket...and it is an exhausting racket. I don't put up a tree either, just a wreath on the chimney and red bow on the lamp post, that's it. I have a few older people in my life still, Friends of my deceased parents. I make them jams, breads, cookies, cereal toppings, fudge and what not but I love to cook and they enjoy them because they are old and few people have the time to do it for them anymore.

I shop 3 months to 1 year early but always end up needing to shop for a few more people up to the week before the holidays.

More of a last minute shopper than a planner ahead of timer. I've never had to do Christmas shopping at 7-11, however.

I buy my gifts AHEAD of time and mail them early!

I live in the country where everything has to be ordered by catalog or over the internet.

Then the delivery services and mail here are handled by pot smoking hippies or the stupidest boys in town -- it's slow and inaccurate.

So I have to have things ready to go around December 1st.

I don't like to think too hard, so I let fate decide what gifts to give.... Whatever is left on shelves is obviously the gift that was meant to be.

Two X-mases ago I had a man follow me in the mall. I was alone and I'm 4'10 and barely 100 lbs. I do my shopping around Oct-Nov so as to avoid extra nutcases around that jolly time of the year.
