i told my bf my name was" X". i mean, he knows my real one is "y" plus, X is my middle name. but most pple call me Y. in fact, only his fam calls me X, and its awkard cuz his mum calls me it and my moms like ??? ..what do i do? its too far to tell them (they all no my real is blahblah, but they call me X anyways) to call me Y. shud i just keep it like this? or ..what do i do??

If it makes you uncomfortable then ask them to call you by your given name, it may take awhile but they will get it eventually. Or just tell your mom that's what they call you because that's what your boyfriend calls you. Just tell your mom you like you middle name and don't mind when people use it or your first. Be honest and dont' lie.

Honesty is the best policy.
Don't hide your true self behind different name. That's almost like locking yourself away in a dark closet, and hoping no one finds you.
