The ice would not effect the baby, but what exactly are you trying to accomplish by putting ice on the belly? If your concerned about the fever hurting the baby, I can tell you that the Mother's fever would have to be extremely high to have any impact. A fever of 102 or less, could easily be managed with Tylenol, which is considered safe for a pregnant woman to take. If she is experiencing vomiting or diarrhea, she should be seen by a Dr or ER to prevent dehydration. As always, use common sense. It's better to be safe than sorry. If she is concerned, she should call her OB. Never be afraid to call an OB after hours, it's simply part of their job. They would rather you call, then try to self medicate.

These people are all TRIPPIN'!!!lmao, well of course you mean on the belly, not in it! And uh, doctors will actually tell you to put a cold pack or a warm pack on the belly to help with the pain of contrctions, or Braxton Hicks. I know because they told me to, and my friend. Also, why wouldn't it be ok? Do you actually think the baby can feel the coldness? Maybe a little bit, but I doubt it!

No, do not put the ice on the baby . Use it on the head if you must, but only 10 minutes at a time & not directly on the skin, to avoid nerve damage .
