Tanya - first of all... Word is not designed to make websites well. There are free programs that do a much, much better job.
Second... I'll answer your question. Save the file to a place you'll find easily. Make sure it saves it as a HTML page. Go to the file, right click on it, "open with..." then choose notepad.
The stuff that appears? That's HTML aka the code to make websites.
Do yourself a favour - find something else to make web pages. What MS Word produces will never validate (it has tons of flaws)

Save the Word document as a webpage.
Save As and change file type to web page.
Then open the new document and click View then source code.

In MS Word 2002, type your document, go to the "File" menu thenselect "Save As" then select "Web Page" as the type of document. Once you've done this, go to the "View" menu and select "HTML Source".
