do you think about the good times you had with that person and how they made you happy at one time, or do you dwell on the bad times and think nasty thoughts about that person?

On the "outside" I probably complain too much. I can be pretty critical of people when I "look back" and assess reasons and "blame". I don't leave SELF-criticism out, though. There's always PLENTY of blame to go around ...... in my lost relationships.

But I honestly try to be a very good friend with open ears, arms and a strong shoulder ...to either lean on or cry upon.

SOOOOO ..... past friends that I've known well and for a long time can have it "rough" ...... since I generally have a good/accurate memory. ...... ....... and I tend to carry grudges .......... again, as I said, on the OUTSIDE.

That said ...... I usually befriend good/fine people. ...... ..... so DEEP in my heart I am always cheering for them wherever they may be and whoever they are with.

I USED to think that I would catch-up with old girl-friends later in life....... and have succeeded in re-dating quite a few ..... but they were probably better left in the "archives" of my memories.

There have always been good/solid reasons we didn't "work out".

I figure that trying to wish those reasons away isn't "smart".

So far........ only a VERY few old friends have "changed" from when we were hanging out.

I still love the MEMORY of them all .......

I think about the good times mainly. Why keep on thinking about a person that was treating you bad? It's funny because I thought about my ex in detroit like a week ago. Few months back I tried to call his dad's house but he couldn't get in touch with him... I think about when I came to visit him in Detroit and how excited I was to see him in over 5 yrs! It's good to reminice on the past because it tells us that life isn't so bad and it's better to loved even for a short time than to not have loved at all.

As a person that is divorced. I have found it is better if you don't dwell on the bad times and remeber the good times. Learn to become friends with them. just because your relationship didn't work dosn't mean your freindship can't.

It is better to think of the good times because then you don't feel as though you wasted time in a relationship with them.

I always remember the good times and good feelings. I don't want to remember the bad things that led to the break up.

I kind of think of both. When someone ask a question and I have to think back on past experiences that depends on what I think about.
