I was born in the Bronx and went to my first Yankee game at age 7. I've seen plenty of winning seasons and pennants. This was just an example of a team who seriously needs to be reshuffled for post-season. Jeter had an MVP year, and with the injuries etc. they still posted a best in baseball winning percentage, along with the Mets. You can't win without solid pitching and they do not have solid pitching. Sorry? Nope. But surprised that they deflated so quickly! Subway Series would have been fun.
But I'm also a New Yorker, So let;s see if the Met's can hang in there. It's so rare for them to get this far. Last WS win was 20 years ago. And then 17 years before that.. Willie Randolph deserves a pat on the back!
But I do find it soooo interesting that even after the Mets sweep the Dodgers to gain a further step into the playoffs, all the attention is still directed at the Yankess, who have been eliminated! This from many Met fans!
AMAZING.... isn't it? lol

Not one d**n bit..im a big Mets fan too and i was getting tired of seeing the Yankees constantly getting more coverage than the Mets in the Daily News (I think most of the columnists in that paper are yankee fans)..people seem to forget that there are actually two major league baseball teams in New York..and the Mets are going all the way!!

How do you ask people to feel sorry for the Yankees and then ask them to be nice? That doesn't make sense. I don't feel bad at all. I don't like any pro sports team that opens their budget and stacks their team with talent. It's even funnier when those teams can't win championships because of big egos and stuff. Just look what happened to the Lakers.

heck no! I hate the Yankees! When I grew up, I liked them, but I really don't like this new breed of spending the most for players (I understand that this is the salary system in place for MLB), but they are never a team, never look like they are having fun, and in general, they are just intolerable.

No, I revel in their pain....
It just goes to show that money does NOT buy everything... that is an important lesson for America to learn..
Harsh, yes... but it's how I feel.
I'm sure Steinbrenner is one pissed off puppy.
Oh well... so sorry!
