My church is doing a drama where this man goes from a born baby to a stoked old man. In one of the time periods he's in the 70s . His daughter and hippies are blaming Nixon for not getting us outta Vietnam. I don't like this drama stiring up old bad memories and don't want to help do the play. Should I do it for the chuch or back out?

If it bothers you, back out.

It's depends on how important it is to you. Since you posted the question perhaps the memories are bad enough that you should back out. Just explain to the church that the play is bringing back bad memories and you would rather not participate. Unless you're backing out at the last minute it shouldn't be a big deal.

Back out. You don't owe anything to the people in the church who are politicising a history event.

Just because people in the group (church members) have decided to do this does not make it right. Remember Jim Jones and his Kool Aid fiasco (group murder) in Guianna (sp.) didn't make it right. People can corrupt anything - even good things like church.

I thought there was supposed to be a seperation between church and government. If the church doesn't want the state to regulate them , then why is the church bringing this into itself ?
Sorry, i know this isn't helping you with your problem.
Do what you feel God is leading you to do.
God Bless.

It's a matter of your convictions. To participate in something I don't agree with, would violate my integrity. You can help the church in other ways and still serve.

No one is forcing you to do it.
