I tested positive for pregnancy. I have been having really dark blood, almost black, for about 3 days now. Is this common? It is not heavy at all.

That's really sick and something you should ask your doctor or a sister or something.

When blood is dark it is old blood that has been around for awhile. Your body is just flushing itself out. When blood is bright red then it is new and should be worried about. Get to an emergency room or call 911 as soon as you see that. So do not worry about black or deep almost purple looking blood. Only when it is red it means you are bleeding.

DON'T scare the girl with things you don't know anything about.

Please don't be alarmed but do see a doctor you will feel better about this. Being pregnant is hard enough without having to be scared about things.

all 3 of my miscarriages started that way. 2 were at 6 weeks, 1 at 10 weeks. I'd see a doctor, if I were you. But I hear some women get that and are fine, sorry if I scare you.

Not sure if it's common, but it's definately not normal.

Call your doctor's office. They should have an on call service who can get you in contact with the doctor. They will help you from there.

How far along are you. Sounds like clotting to me. Get off the internet and go to your doctor.

I would get it checked. Although I have relatives that had a period after they got pregnant and that sounds like how they described it to me, but I would still get checked.

That is concerning. You need to go have it checked out to make sure everything is ok.

Check with your doctor this doesn't seem normal, unless your getting your period which is possible,

Black = very old blood.

Most likely left-over from last period before pregnancy.

BUT.

See your doc, of course.

Good luck. :)
