The visibility of the linea negra depends mostly on genetics, skin tone, and just dumb luck. Lots of skinny girls have shown them, lots of rounder girls, too. It's not permanent, and it will fade eventually. Good luck!

It really has nothing to do with weight. I think it actually has something to do with genetics and or ethnicity. Either way don't worry. I've actually had a "linea nigra" my whole life and it has never bothered me.

I have 5 kids and never had the line. It's one "symptom/sign" of pregnancy but it doesn't happen to everyone and weight has absolutely nothing to do with it.

I don't think weight has anything to do with whether or not it show up. I wasn't the thinnest person and I didn't get one.

I think that line usually goes away after pregnancy. If it stays then it would be there no matter what.

i think that those with darker coloured skin are more likely to get one. I am 19 weeks and i dont have one but i was thin beforehand

I agree with the first answer...it doesn't matter what your weight is...some women get them, some don't.

yep it shows on BIG girls.. i got one..actually it just went away... and my daughter is 13 mo old
