I've only seen Back to the Future but I heard The Godfather is really good.

What an odd choice!
Godfather, naturally. That movie has lasting cultural significance, and many other filmmakers and actors have cited Coppola's series as an important influence.
"Back to the Future" is good, wacky fun. But I think the Godfather has greater and more enduring appeal.

Impossible. They are two completely different styles, genres, classes and myths. They are both at the pinnacle of their contemporaries but cannot be compared. If one were silly enough to try to rank one over the other, one would have to go with the Godfather seeing as it won Best Picture twice...but speaking for the generation raised on "1.21 Gigawatts!!!" I have to say, with all sincerity, that the two cannot be compared and are equally great.
