You are ABSOLUTELY right! My parents would have both beat me if I had even contemplated putting myself in this situation. There seems to be less discipline these days.

Ok I think you opinion is only that yours, I was a young mum and I dont think there is anything wrong with that, Everything happens for a reason and life is that of the person who is living it. I wouldn't change my life for anything, I am a married mum of 2 with my last baby on the way, Your little note really got under my skin as my first 2 babies weren't planned and I was on contriception but who do you think you are saying its wrong? I believe that it shouldn't be incouraged thats for sure but sometimes these things happen and there is a leason behind it. It doesnt matter what age you have your kids they will always be a handful when they are young, thats what kids are all about. I was outta school for over a year before I fell pregnant and it sure did change my life but I believe it was for the better. My son is nearly 4 and the past 4 years I have learnt more then the rest of my life.
I dont think you should plan to have a baby young but if it happens these chicks are really muture to make the desion to keep the baby and live up to the responcibilties they have in front of them and not wimp out and either abort of adopt out. I really dont think the critisim is doing anyone any good as its hard been a mum full stop but been a young mum you have extra pressures of the people around you judging you. Dont judge because you are no better then the next person so stop thinking that way we are ment to be teaching our kids to be respectful to all. Think about that.

Yeah I know. It's hard to hear. Honestly though in our parent's generation teens were having sex too, but everything was more hush hush, and God forbid if you were pregnant they'd send you off for a year to your "Aunt's". It's been happening for some time. Either way it's way to young to be having sex or children. There's a big difference between being 15 or 16 and having a kid and being 23 and having a kid. I don't think it's completely the parent's faults as the parents can't be around 24/7 they need to go to work to pay for their homes and support their kids. But yes, a lot of it probably does have to do with parenting. Having an open relationship with your child and talking about sex can probably prevent a lot of this. Sometimes being a strict parent can prevent this, but when I was a teen a lot of the other teens with strict parents were more eager to have sex soon. I think talking to your kid works best.

Some parents weren't cut out to be parents and they just don't want the hassle of being involved or the long-term responsibilities of parenthood. The parents need to get off their a-- and get involved with their kids life. These kids are looking for the love and attention that they haven't gotten from their parents BUT they also don't realize the ramifications of having a child when they are too young to raise a child.

The hippy generation made MY generation and I believe less of us got pregnant 12-14 yrs old than nowadays. So, it's my friend's kids, my friend's friend's kids and will not be MY kids.
I do 100% put the blame on the parents. We can't watch them 24/7 but we sure as hell can let them know right from wrong and hold them to higher expectations.

I really think that children having sex at this age have some real problems in there homes ,like no love ,attention or even sexual abuse.girls who have no relationship with dad will turn to boys too early too. I feel really sorry for them and wish there parents would do there job ,no you cant stop teenagers having sex but the really young ones could be better supervised and the older ones can be taught to respect and protect them selves

Its all about responsibility and rules. They wouldn't be getting knocked up if they didn't have 20 year old boyfriends and weren't out at all hours of the night acting like they are grown. Parents really should take control of their children and let them know his is boss. This is really getting serious. Fifteen year olds posting on here thinking they are pregnant?! I believe parents and children are both at fault. I think the children are doing it just because they can, and their parents have let them do it. So here you go, this is today's world. Full of babies having babies, and the welfare rate growing higher and higher.

It sounds like your dad did the right thing and that the threat of a butt whipping really kept you on the straight and narrow. Good for you and you are so right.

Hey, parents can't be around 24/7. There are times when children are left on their own. Doesn't mean they are bad parents, but like the bumper sticker says, sh** happens

I blame the hippy generation for the lack of discipline, and the hip-hop generation for glorifying imoral stuff as cool.
