that's a intense fallacy. No comic tale, that's been proved! the in elementary words challenge that determines which direction the water flows down a drain is depending on the initial circumstances lower than which the water enters the drain. The coriolis result's so insignificant to this procedure. in case you do not believe me, turn on the water on your sink. Whichever direction that's spinning initially, spin your finger in the option direction. The water will keep on with even with direction you push it in. Btw, i did not see the answer above me, yet I accept as true with you pal. Sorry, even with the indisputable fact that it truly sounds like I plagarised you and that i did not even examine your submit. Cheers! :)

My guess is that if you did somehow happen to be EXACTLY 50% on the northern hemisphere and 50% on the southern, it wouldn't flow in any direction, it would just go straight down, no spinning at all.

From my observation, the water flows straight.Maybe because the equator has less gravitional force than the north and southern hemisphere. :)

I have seen somewhere that Coriolis' phenomenon do not apply to the direction of the water flow in a sinker, whereas they are verified by atmospheric depressions etc.
I hope my source doesn't turns the wrong way !

I have experimented with this.It flows in a direction that suits the water. If you give the water in the tub a twist with your hand it will turn in the other direction.I don't know about the equator and wheter it matters where you are.I don't think so and it's basically myth I think.
