Hmm.... good question yet upsetting.

I think the hardest thing it tell someone is that their loved one just died (...a drunk driver didn't give a damn. Standing there while they cry their heart out and standing there refraining your own tears and not being able to look in their eye when they ask you more questions)

Hardest thing to ask... "do you love me?" and not knowing what the answer is. You just stand their waiting wishing deep inside they say yes but they just stand their insinuating ignorance while your eyes plead. And then you know all too well, your answer...

However, just to add: the hardest thing to know: that someone doesn't care about you at all when they say they do. And not being about to do anything about it. And you can never trust them again.

Stay safe all. - Maryam

I would think the hardest thing to tell someone would be that they are or you are dieing. Also, that a loved one had died in an accident or something like that.

Or...on a less professional note that you are leaving your husband or wife or having an affair would rank up there too.

The thing that would be the hardest to tell someone would be whatever YOU would dread hearing yourself. If you know the other person you might know what they would dread the most.

The first "I love you". Because the other person's response is nerveracking.

You don't know what to expect. Will they give you a sincere "I love you too", or the dreadful "thank you", or "uh-huh", or maybe they wont even acknowledge it and change the subject.

That first "I love you" is very tricky.

To be the first to say "I love you" if you are not sure how they feel about you. And to say "I don't love you" when you know that that person is in love with you.

the most difficult thing - and the most unkind - is to remain silent, to say nothing.
