Have any of you out there ever dissected a rat? I'm an animal lover, and don't really want to do it , but I am studying vet nursing, do you think I'd be better off missing the class as I'm told it's not very nice.

My daughter did it during her B.S. Biology. You should do it too and become a good vet nurse in the future.

The rat is dead and doesn't feel a thing. You need to do this if you are going to help living animals. Dissecting a rat is better than watching films of real people getting killed, like I had to in Forensic Science class at college.

How do you expect to work with and help cure animals without studying them inside and out? You think this kind of learning activity is gonna end with a rat?

if you can not handle a class because it is "disgusting", how the hell do you plan on making it as a vet nurse? you need assist the vet with his/her operations, births, etc. you better start getting a strong stomach now or you are not going to make it!!!
