Believe it or not, it is true. Not for any physical affect that the moon may have, but because so many people believe that the moon can affect their lives, they subconsciously become susceptible to the phases of the moon.

No.

The psychological effects of the moon on people constitute an ancient and honorable myth, but nothing more. The water in our bodies does not weigh enough to feel a tidal effect like the water in the oceans.

There is no scientific evidence to indicate that the moon affects people at all. All the urban legends about more babies being born and more crimes committed during the full moon break down under scientific scrutiny.

See www.snopes.com and look up "moon."

Get yourself an Almanac. Strange but interesting little books. I believe that it recommends planting by the phases of the moon. Some people believe in getting their hair cut on the full moon.
The moon obviously has an effect on water, so beings made of mostly water should be effected.
I like a full moon. I always feel more optimistic on a full moon and much more ready for harmless mischief of one kind or another.

All you have to do is look around and observe. The work lunatic for a "crazy" one doesn't come out of thin air.
I think it has an effect on all living things and if it caused personality changes wouldn't it happen to everyone? Or is it just that it is a time when what is already within a person comes out easier? For me it is a calming time not like most and act out---which is statisticlly dcumented aby hospitals, law enforcement and bartenders alike. IO like howling at the moon myself!!

Well Theoritcally, yes, anything can effect your personality; so I guess if you were to stare at the moon long enough (say 5+ hrs) or so then it would definetly change your perception of the moon.

Overall you personality is defined when you hit age 3, anything after will then not affect your personality afterward, so technically speaking it would only affect you temporarily and you would go back to your old self after a while

No that is a myth that more babies are born and that more crimes and crazy people come out during the full moon. They did a study that disproved it.
However, the lunar effect on tidal forces is most definitely real.
The most a full moon will do is bring out the romantic, or werewolf in you, heheheh.

There has been a lot of research done, and scientists claim there is nothing different when the moon is full.

But, in the 80's, I supplied no-fee counseling to divorced and unwed fathers, from my home after work. And, I can tell you when the moon was near full, I could barely get to the bathroom when I needed it, because of all the calls I got.

I can say from personal experience that ,,yes it can change a person's mood,,,I used to dread a full moon because I knew that is when my oldest boy would be more moody to the point that he would get in arguments over silly things that normally wouldn't bother him,,,it causes him to be more sensitive and very touchy and even aggressive depending on the situation

Yes. Under a full moon, it's pretty bright at night. That can affect sleep.
