I don't know, is there a new group? Back in the day they initiated a lot of social programs in the urban ghettos, food and there used to be free clinics and the like. They also protected their folks from abuse by the authorities, which was kind of out of control back then.
Buy eventually they got taken over by people who did not agree with their principles and turned to violence (kind of like the Republican party got taken over in the last several years by people who did not agree with conservative principles).
