Well, Mariska recently had a baby, so her character is "working undercover"... presumably until Mariska is ready to return to work.. (she IS coming back, right? I didn't read the replies to that other question.)

Olivia(Mariska Hargitay) is on an undercover mission for the FBI. In real life she recently had a baby boy so she is on maternity leave. The other woman is only going to be on the show for 6 episodes then Olivia will be back(thank goodness).

on the show her character had to take some time away from Eliot. He has a very bad temper as you know and especially when it comes to children. She saw him lose it one too many times and the last case they were on drew them closer together in a personal way and she felt uncomfortable with that. So she is working in the internet crime unit where she is able to track down "perps" that use the internet to prey and she does help out her old squad. As for her in her personal life, she was pregnant; very pregnant and that's the reason the story line was changed earlier. She has since had her baby and who knows what the writers hold for her.

mariska hargitays character is undercover for the fbi-in real life she recently had a baby boy--she will return in episode 9--she also recently lost her dad--former body builder mickey hargitay-who used to be married to former sex symbol jayne mansfield--she passed away many years ago in tragic car accident-mariska and her 2 siblings were also in the car-but they were sleeping and fortunately survived the accident

She is pregnant so they changed her character to an FBI undercover case and she couldn"t let her fellow workers know. It was a forced issue by the FBI and they are called the perps.

they took he off because she was pregnant
but she'll probably come back soon as soon as she can i mean but no mother wants to leave he kid and she probably has enough money so she could be a stay at home mom
