The Latin Grammy Awards honor achievements in the music industry by Spanish-speaking individuals/groups. The Portuguese language, though similar to Spanish, is not Spanish.

When the Board of Directors of The Latin Grammy Awards, and Latin American musicians choose to include the Portuguese in Latin Grammy Award nominations, this talented group of musicians may be regognized and honored.
