I can't tell you exactly because each mail message is different. Some may contain pictures, attachments and the like. I recently switched to Verizon Yahoo, and my mail page no longer tells me how much room is available, but it's quite large. If your messages are moderate, you might be able to hold thousands of them. To get an accurate fix, check the amount of space available on your mail page, divide that by the size of one of your average e-mails and you'll get a good answer.

It can hold thousands of messages. What really matters is the file size. A basic free account can hold 1GB of information. So if they are all just small e-mails with words, you should be able to hold more than enough emails. If someone sends you pictures or videos, the size will be bigger. Each e-mail will show its size when you look at the list of emails.
The size of each email is usually measure in KB (Kilobytes) rather than GB (Gigabytes). A Kilobyte is about a thousand bytes, whereas a Gigabyte is about a billion bytes. So, 1GB should contain just over 1, 000, 000 KB (actually more likely 1,048,576).
To give you a better idea, I have over 6000 messages in different folders in my Yahoo. Yet, I am only 28% of my 1GB. Most of my files are small, usually under 10 or 20K with a few over 300K. So, if I only receive small files like this, I should be able to have about 24,000 e-mails.
