It would serve no purpose to give up living so someone else's pain goes away. Find a pain clinic in your area and have him make an appointment. A relationship doesn't mean giving up who you are for the other person, it means helping the other person through pain and sorrow and hard times.

Heck no. Did you mean you give up your life? How will that help his pain unless you will give him your vital organs for transplant so he will live. Chances are, you will not be a match if you are not a blood relative anyway.
Life is a gift. Learn from his life, make the rest of his life as meaningful as you can, Beyond that, it is all up to his maker. Pray for him.
