You can't "solve" the "illegal immigraiton" issue because it's politically impossible to do what is needed to keep them from leaving Mexico (and Guatemala and Honduras, etc.)
NAFTA opened the Mexican market to US agricultural proudcts. US farm subsidies to mega-producers made corn and cotton and sugar etc. so cheap to import that Mexcan (and African, etc.) farmers can't compete. So they leave: Mexicans to the USA, Africans to Europe. Or else they starve.
The nasty, unintended consequence of globalization.
Ironically, the US produce industry depends on cheap Mexican labor. So the Republican Party doesn't really want to stop illegal immigration anyway because it would lose the farm vote. It just wants to control it and keep it out of sight.
Whatever is done now ("kick 'em out" or something else) will have other unintended consequences. Most of them probably bad ones; certainly wages for unskilled labor will rise: that will raise prices and put small businesses out of business, send more jobs abroad, etc.

Just legalize everybody. Problem solved.
Or deport the people whining about illegal immigration. Or at least make them explain what the "issue" is and why it needs "solving," and how will life in America be better afterwards? (Other than for the bigots who say they "hate" Mexicans.)
Or change the rules so EVERYBODY who wants to be a citizen has to earn it in some way, regardless of where you are born or who your parents are. No more free ride for citizens who were born here. Then America will have the best, smartest people from the biggest possible pool.

We need to develop a more reasonable guest worker program. I can say in all honesty, that if I were born Mexican and had the option of watching my family die of malnutrition or tunnel under a fence. You can bet money, I'd learn to tunnel.
If we do build "Bush's Iron Curtain". The Mexicans will find other ways to get here. 700 miles of fence doesn't do much. Remember how loved the Berlin Wall was?
We need to come to terms, rather than to emotionally rush to judgment. The "knee jerk" mentality of this administration is a clear example of what NOT to do if we want our America to ever be respected as a world leader.

If firms desire illegals working for them then immigration regulations could desire to be greater versatile to allow immigrant again in for artwork yet this might inspire greater unlawful immigration except you place harder punishments on employers for hiring illegals, which by skill of how is against the regulation TOO. additionally people who've been right here for fairly a while and haven't any criminal record could desire to get an amnesty yet they maximum pay fines...

In spite of what both sides like to pretend, there is no simple one-size-fits-all answer to this question. "They're illegal so throw them out" isn't practical. "They're here so leave them alone" does reward the illegal behavior. It's a complex question that needs more than the soundbite answers we're hearing from both sides of the issue. The more partisan bickering that goes on, the less likely we are to ever solve the problem.
That doesn't answer the question. I don't have an easy answer to the question.
