If you mean for a Halloween costume I will say a Pirate is better because of all the accessories which could win you a prize in a contest. On the other hand a Ninja costume is easier to put together but since it's less elaborate than a Pirate you may not win in a contest.

While I love pirates, I have to say it is more likely they would lose to a ninja's skills. Ninjas have trained under there senseis/masters since they could walk. They have way more experience and weapons than to be beaten by a mere sword.

I would prefer ninjas. They have discipline. Pirates are drunk and just fall all over the place.

You take a smelly pirate hooker and mate it with a ninja, poke out an eye, chop off leg and or hand add patch, stick and hook, microwave on full power with a splash of fetal cells....mmmmm.,.....fetal.......BAM!!!..you got the baddest-dang ninja pirate.....Haaayaaargh
