I am having an afternoon get together with my girlfriends to put together wedding invitations for my destination wedding. What kinds of foods should I serve? Does anyone know of any restaurant in Houston that I can order light dishes suitable for the occassion to-go? It will be about eight women.

Please keep in mind that we will be doing invitations for my wedding. Therefore, anything super messy is probably NOT a good idea.

You can go to Ninfa's for fajitas, thats easy and every can find something to please themselves.
Also: Mai's, Dharma Cafe- they have a website, Cafe Empire, and Brazil. All have good, finger food options that would please a wide variety of people.

Here is a recipe for a tasty salad you can easily make yourself. I use only a little of the ramen seasoning packet because it has way too much salt in it. You should double the recipe for 8 people.

INGREDIENTS
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
1 1/2 tablespoons rice vinegar
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
2 tablespoons white sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/3 cup olive oil
4 cups shredded napa and regular cabbage
2 carrots, shredded
1 cup pea pods
1 (3 ounce) package ramen noodles, crushed
DIRECTIONS
In a small skillet, toast sesame seeds over medium heat until golden brown and fragrant.
In a small bowl, mix together vinegar, sesame oil, olive oil, sugar, salt, pepper, and ramen seasoning packet.
In a large bowl, mix together cabbage, carrots, and crushed ramen noodles. Toss with dressing to coat evenly. Top with toasted sesame seeds.

An herbal iced tea such as raspberry would go well with this.

You know what's cute/quaint and tasty...? Cucumber sandwiches with the crust cut off. Serve tea with them. Just an idea.
