i gotta make a box for my physics class and have the least amount of noise be heard thru it. i need to know wut to use to do this. preferably some sort of a home material or something u can buy at a hardware store or something

Sound travels through denser the medium, the more easily sound waves travel through it. Using some material which has lots of air pockets, such as insulation, works well.

Hi. Try using egg crate material for the walls with fiberglass insulation separating the two layers of the crate walls.

The best material is cotton padding. Regular home insulation does not have enough density. Concrete is better. Styrofoam is also good.

try using just 2 pieces of plexy glass(per side) with fiberglass insulation or some other type of insulation in between.

maybe you can juz use towel or wool padded on sides of the box.
(something soft)
