Maybe people of color would stand a chance if it weren't for the racist jerks posting! Until this nation changes its hateful racist past, there can never be positive change. All of you racists disgusts me and one day when you are old, feeble, and alone you will regret your racist and shameful past.

I see a lot of "haven't ran" answers. They have. How can a minority win in a majority wins system? You'd have to convince white people like me to give up our controlling stake on society! If black people were the majority they'd do the same thing. We're human and we're selfish. We (white people) even take special efforts to try and prevent black people from voting. For instance convicted criminals can't vote. There's no logical reason for it except that a lot of black people are found guilty by the court system (maybe because they are, maybe because the system screws them) It's not right to take away the right of a person screwed by the system to have a say in how to run it. We also make sure to have plenty of rural voting booths so as not to inconvenience rural white republican voters while city voting booths can have 2 or 3 hour long waits. If you don't think that's by design you're naive. White people are quite evil. But so are all the rest of people.
My advice - Blacks should just keep having kids at a higher rate than us and eventually they will take over. I don't think that's good news for the competitiveness of the country(sorry I buy into certain factual racial differences like mean IQ) but it'll be good for black people.

they have run for president, there just haven't been any major party candidates that have run.
I think honestly because there is still a lot of prejudice, and major parties don't want to risk a loss based on the color of skin. I don't agree with it, that would just be my idea as to why. I would vote for a black president or a woman president if they were good candidates.
I think money MAY possibly play a little bit in here too. Blacks have a disproportionate number in poverty as compared to whites. (ie, More whites live in poverty, but there is a greater percentage of Blacks.) Again, I don' t agree with it, but those are the stats, and the more money you have, the more likely you are to win.

having a "dark skinned" prez hasn't happened yet because it has only been two and a half generations since black people had to drink from seperate water fountains than whites. Black people (or mexicans) haven't been able to position themselves in the american politcial system like they would need to have a candidate with a considerable chance of winning the election.
I personally feel that if the iraq war would have went better colin powell would have a decent chance, even though he says he would never want to run.

Colin Powell could have been elected prior to his being MonkeyBoy's whipping boy. Obama is probably the next to have a chance.

A guy named Keyes was running once. He was a front runner and a good guy. Invited to a debate in Alabama and when he got there, they told him he couldn't go in...and then he was escorted off the lot by police who drove him around the city a few times before letting him out of the car. He dropped out of the race shortly after.
I'd've voted for him, probably.

This is really still just perpetrating racism. Why should we, as a "color-blind society", give a crap what color or origin our president is?
